Reverend Tresa Ransom
Born on July 21, 1965, in Des Moines, Iowa, Reverend Tresa Ransom is a dedicated minister and accomplished professional. She graduated from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1989. Her career as an engineer included roles with IBM, the Iowa Communications Network, and Qwest Communications.
While attending college, she met her husband, James Ransom. The two married in 1985 and together are blessed with four children: three daughters — Traya, Trakaya, and Trinity — and one son, Samuel.
In 1992, she experienced a divine calling to preach the Gospel. During a church service, she heard the voice of God say, “Preach!”. She initially wrestled with the idea, believing it stemmed from her own deep desire to hear the Word taught with boldness and integrity. However, she soon realized the call to preach was undeniable. Six months later, during a home Bible study, she heard God’s voice again, saying, “It’s time!” This confirmation led her to preach her first sermon on February 13, 1994 at Morning Star Baptist Church, where she was licensed by Pastor Alex Crawford, Jr. Over time, she received additional licensing and ordination under Pastor Dan Berry of Cornerstone Family Church in Des Moines, Iowa, and Episcopal Pastor Dr. John A. Cherry of From the Heart Church Ministries in Suitland, Maryland.
Her ministerial work spans a variety of impactful roles, including:
Women’s Ministry Leadership
Preaching and Teaching
Choir Directing
Sunday School Leadership
Counseling
Playwriting and Musical Direction
Reverend Ransom’s ministry is marked by a clear and profound impact on the lives of those she has served. Through her faith, teachings, and leadership, countless individuals have been led to salvation and inspired to walk closer with God. Her work continues to bring glory to the Lord and godly transformation in the lives of others.
